Youth Programs

Do you love to play with your dog?  Try your hand at the canine sport of agility. Join our regular agility classes that run throughout the year or sign up for our kids summer camp. It's fun, you'll spend time outdoors, and you will bond with your dog. Your dog’s obedience skills will improve and will become more focused on you.

At West Coast Canine Academy, we are excited to offer a summer program for young people. Our instructor, Dorothy Jones, is a teacher by trade with years of experience working with young people. She loves working with kids and kids love her. Combine all that with Dorothy’s obedience and agility skills and you have one great youth program trainer. It is always such a thrill for us to watch kids learning about the sports of agility and sheep herding. By the end of the week-long program, they are working sheep in the field by themselves and running short agility sequences.

Participants also learn to make their own tuggy toy, try their hand at photographing or videoing the dogs at play, learn to train some fun tricks, work on basic obedience, begin to learn the foundations required to be able to run agility courses and try their hand at sheep herding with trained border collies.

For youth aged 10 years old and up. Dogs need to be at least 9 months old.
